"Howie MacDonald's The Dance Last Night" - When it
comes to comedy and music, Cape Breton has no shortage - especially in
fiddler Howie MacDonald. Together with Bette MacDonald and Maynard
Morrison, he's put together a new Red Curtain production called 'The
Dance Last Night,' a loose stage version of his album of the same name.
The story takes place at a dance in 'Upper Northeast-Southwest'
Community Hall, as some interesting characters, all played by MacDonald,
share their experiences during this social event. Not to mention the
incredible talent providing the musical soundtrack to this production.
The show will star MacDonald, Mac Morin and Dave MacIsaac, with Colin
Grant and John Chiasson also contributing. Molly Rankin,
the very talented daughter of the late John Morris Rankin, will also
have a starring role in 'The Dance Last Night.' 8pm - $20 -

Multi-award winner Jimmy Rankin approaches his
songwriting as an artist would his painting. In his own words, "you
build a song and colour it until all the images blend together as one
complete portrait that tells some kind of story." His latest recording
'Edge of Day' is a perfect example of his art. And with this 'unplugged'
performance, he can share his art personally with his audience. |

Fresh
off the first Rankin family reunion tour in January & February 2007,
the sweet, angelic, Celtic-influenced voices
of Raylene, Heather & Cookie
Rankin are back together & looking forward
to another Maritime Christmas
tour.
The
Rankin Sisters kick off the Christmas holidays with a soiree of
Yuletide cheer. Filled with the sisters'
trademark Celtic-influenced
vocals, this concert tour draws from their
delightful Christmas album, Do
You Hear, which expresses their love of the
holiday season. |
